That is certainly a good way to go. I'm putting the package together now. You will have enough parts to try several solutions. I will post the list of parts here soon. Thanks for your patience. ;)

i look forward to the list. yes it will be a good idea to test different solutions for this. i mean we want it to work to its best.
Once again Jim, im extremely overwhelmed to be given this unique opportunity to work on this project for you. couldn't ask for a better robot project sponsor.

iv even been working on v2.0 for this.

i just looked through the list.

it all looks there! im confident and you can quote me on that!

as i said before i do have some spares and in using these it would mean you'd only need to send:

3 x 6 HS-645s with 6 Free Metal Servo Horns SCD-03
3 x Aluminum "L" Connector Bracket Two Pack ASB-06
5 x Aluminum Dual Servo Bracket - Black (Single) ASB-13
1 x Aluminum Hexapod 3-R Body Kit - Round Full Size (Black Anodized) HBKR-BLK
3 x Aluminum Interconnect / Servo Horn Bracket Two Pack (Brushed) ASB-19B
1 x Aluminum Multi-Purpose Servo Bracket Two Pack ASB-04
6 x Aluminum Tubing - 3.0" AT-02
6 x Aluminum Tubing - 4.50" AT-03
5 x Aluminum Tubing Option Connector Hub (Single) HUB-09
5 x Ball Bearing Hub Kit BBH-01
6 x Ball Link Set - 2-56 (2 pair) BLS-01
1 x BASIC Atom Pro 28 Pin BAP-02
1 x Bot Board II ABB-01
1 x PS2 Controller Cable PS2C-01
1 x PS2 Robot Controller RC-01
2 x PS2 Wireless Controller Receiver PS2R-01
6 x Rubber End Cap - .500" x 1.50" (pair) REC-06
1 x SSC-32 Servo Controller SSC-32
1 x Threaded Rod - 12" x 2-56 (6) TROD-01
1 x Wiring Harness - 9vdc Battery Connector WH-03
1 x Wiring Harness - Battery Connector WH-01
6 x 3" Phoenix femurs
6 x 4" Custom femurs

It doesnt 'vary, very much when looking at it but i may help.

WOW 645's, well i did say its best to push it to its full potential!
personally i feel that 485's would work well enough for the coxa servos!
Quote:
6 x Rubber End Cap - .500" x 1.50" (pair) REC-06

12 caps?
would that accommodate for the two sets of tubes? saves removing when testing different sizes i guess.

apart from that everything looks 20/20!

Ooh its exciting! :D

No worries on the stuff you have on hand. I'm sending all new so you can keep fiddling with the parts you have. ;) When we're all done with this you can use the servos and parts for anything you want.

When I saw the original post I knew immediately I had to try this on an arm. So I'm happy to provide this as a way of saying thanks for the inspiration. The hexapod experiment is really cool, but the same concept on an arm will be a significant improvement on the servo-on-the elbow scenario. When I get the rest of the arm designed I will see about sending you one as well. Thanks again!

Oh, email me the address please.
