Yes, our new store software is finally here! I hope you're as excited as I am exhausted, because I could probably sleep for a year! I expect you all to be excited at least that long. It would only be polite.

Now, there is a little bit of not-so-good news to go along with the best-ever-good news: We were unable to import the customer database to the new software. What this means to you is that you'll have to create a new account. You will NOT lose any orders that have been placed! We have local access to the old site, and are processing the last few orders as I type this. You WILL need to create a new customer account. It's a little inconvenient, and I'm sorry for that, but the new store is just so much more awesome than the old one that the database couldn't be carried over.

As for what's been improved? Pretty much everything! There are now embedded videos, playable without leaving the page. Related items are all linked from appropriate pages. Searching is better, navigation is improved, and the checkout process is much easier. There's now a wish list function! We DO have the ability now to add shipping methods other than UPS, which has been a long, long time coming. However, at the moment UPS is still the only option. Give me a moment to catch my breath, I'm trying to take this one step at a time. One exhausted, shambling, zombie-esque step at a time...


THAT SAID, if you do happen to come across any oddities or issues, please, let me know. I poured my blood, sweat, and tears into this site and I want it to be the best ever!

OK, new software, basically the same look.
That is a GOOD thing. Too many bells and whistles simply for the sake of flash is technological masturbation. I think that once you have a workable site designed, stick with it. Bug corrections, yes. Updates, yes. Complete redesign, no. Lots of users LIKE having a known quantity to work with.

As for the database import, hell, some issues go with an update. I can live with that. More importantly, the forum wasn't lost. THAT would be a pain. Lots of good info buried in here.

Now get some rest, have a brew, and GET BACK TO WORK.
