Hi Guys,

I am planning a project that would be a quadruped what I can control with a PS2 controller. This is just a very basic question, what stuff do I need? There is som many chips and stuff on the site I can't work out what I need. Do I need just a SSC-32, BotBoarduino and PS2 Robot Controller?

Thanks,
George

Posting multiple threads is never a smart move if you want help. most users here will read every post so your post will be seen.

its not really a question we can answer for you regarding the hardware as its up to you how you want it to look.

You can select a leg type from here:
http://www.lynxmotion.com/c-95-ses-leg-kits.aspx

You can select a body type from here:
http://www.lynxmotion.com/c-88-chassis-acc.aspx

Extra brackets from here:
http://www.lynxmotion.com/c-87-standard ... ckets.aspx

Electronics:
http://www.lynxmotion.com/c-9-electronics.aspx

there are a few current threads on here about quadrupeds and all are slight different is design and electronics so you could look into those and find out whats the best way for you to control it.

my choice at the moment would be to use the BotBoard2 with a basic atom chip and an SSC32 servo controller. and then of course the PS2.

The Bot Board II is a carrier for the Basic Atom microcontroller. (Brain)

The SSC servo controller will control the robots servo motors.

PS2:

some people are using the Arduino based boards and so this is another option for you but the setup is basically the same.

There is not Lynxmotion Quadruped code avaliable YET, but as i have mentioned there are a few projects out already and im sure people will be happy to share their code..
Me included.

Do I need the basic atom chip and BB2 if it not autonomous? Can I just use the BotBoarduino instad? or is the basic atom easier to use or something?

The botboard is just a carrier board and require the atom chip to run.. but alternatively you can just buy the botboarduino and ssc.

Thanks, Which is easier for a begineer to get up and running with? It seems like if someone is just using a PS2 controller they just just the botboardardunio.

iv not used the botboarduino yet. but im expecting the set ups etc to be the same. the only difference as far as i can tell is the programming language.

you will require the ssc as well as the botboarduino.
