In fact it's semi commercial.
The guy who make it for me is in link with a shop who build bigger cnc and he have to opportunity to use the same parts.
He can make half sise of the original that the compagny make.

His website.
http://customcnc.ca/

The one i ordered is a 14" x 10" x 4" of cutting area. It use 8020 aluminium extrude for some parts (2" x 1" i think)
I don't have detailled drawing, but should have the frame this week so i will mesure.

Flickr complete pictures of what i have:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/55725351@N08/sets/72157626454514032/

If you look at the table there is 2 serie of hole to attach the brakets. He said that if i use the most outside serie of hole i have 14" on X axis and the center hole loke 20".

If you take the time there is 3 small video that he made for me. Very poor visual but that was mostly to talk about the cnc.

Will update when i will have it..
I am looking at HobbyCNC hardware for motor and driver

quite nice, but honestly speaking do not expect magic from machine made of alu. even thick.
i have contact with guys making this toys from different materials and as for now the best ones are steel or synthetic concrete. but of course everything depends on what for this machine is.
for making PCB, engraving, routing soft materials or even alu works should be enough.

and commercial i meant for joystick drawings :)

this is mine one if you are interested, forum is in polish but pictures are pictures - construction 8mm black steel

Yes i am looking to do mostly sheet routing. Aluminum, Plastic, lexan etc

I was looking at Plastic routing table, so aluminum is a big improvement.. LOL

I don't think i will do any steel.

Yours is very nice. look strong :)

well, that was a big mistake in total to be honest.
there is outrunner 3f model brushless motor ~450W power
rest is "handmade" on lathe and other tools, but there was very week precision overall, so id didn't pass the exam.
quite noisy and bearings gets hot too fast.

right now i'm using Kress 1050 FME, quite silent fast, powerful and precise motor. i'm really happy with that one.

Take a look at trim routers.

Yes that's what i will buy to remplace the Rotozip.

I have found that to modulate the speed of the RotoZip:

That should work. I have something like that, but slated towards power tools. Not much power in the low speeds.
