I've been toying with a small yet heavy duty base rotate concept. Here's an image of the idea.

I like the design. It looks like the baseplate will add support to keep the sides of the servo bracket from spreading under load. unlike the regular servo brackets with the mouting tabs unsuppported, the mounting points of this design is one piece and should be good and strong. Is the baseplate going to be bolted or swaged?

Very nice! Should significantly add strength and stability where weight or long moment arms are factors. How soon will they become available? I want some.

This may be a good time to ask some questions I have about most of your builds. I notice you almost always twist your servo wires - very neatly and evenly I might add. Is there a reason other than cosmetic or asthetic for this? (e.g. to reduce radio frequency interference or crosstalk with sensors, etc.) The twists are so neat and similar I assume you use a mechanical rather than manual method. Do you use a hand drill, power drill, power screw driver, or some other motorized method?

If there is an engineering reason beyond good looks, perhaps you should publicize it.

We will test these parts throughly and pull the trigger on production in a day or two. We should have them in stock 2 to 3 weeks later.

I can't take any credit for the wires though. They are that way on the heavy duty servos out of the box. The idea is they are less susceptible to electrical "noise".

i see a lot of unused space for SES hole patterns. the more integration the better i say.

maybe SES holes on the side?

and/or even on the bottom plate. you could also turn in the tabs giving the option for a bottom attachment. or for get turning in the tabs and just have it on the bottom plate.

Nice bracket, one that has been needed. So much in fact, that I made and posted on a similar one a week or two ago for my ASB-13 'bot.

DO consider making a servo bracket like these, but include a servo horn hole pattern so that the LPA gears could be used (see my CAD drawing). Would make a great set of jaws (gripper)!

Maybe I can use your bracket in my ASB-13 'bot.



You could use some servo horn hole patterns on the sides...

Yes I see the need for the ideas above. This bracket set is specific to a HD base. I would rather make a more universal one for the SES. Also the added pivot point for use as a gripper has been on my to do list for a long time. I'm getting there... Thanks for the feedback.

I just went back to the start of the thread, and noticed how the plate picks up a bearing for the backside of the servo. Nice way to do it! I hadn't realized until then that this was a special purpose bracket.

The addition of a similar bracket to the SES line will be very welcome.

Love it. I agree that some ses holes on the sides as well as the bottom plate would be nice. Would adding these holes jack the cost up?

I see other possibilities also, such as a heavy duty pan/tilt - add either an ASB-09, ASB-10, or ASB-202, ASB-205, or ASB-203 "C" bracket horizontally attached to the rest. This could also be the bad-arse heavy duty leg rotate for a super sized walker.

Just some crazy ideas from my brain.
